TREASURER: GIACINTA (GIA) PACE is a graduate of Hofstra University where she received her B.F.A in Theater Performance in 1996, Cum Laude and with High Departmental Honors. She is an actress, producer and journalist, among many other professions. Gia worked at NBC Universal for 12 years, and during her time in the News Division, she wrote a weekly article entitled “Cause Celeb” on NBCnews.com, for which she interviewed celebrities about their favorite charities. Gia also heads up her own entertainment company in which she produces two weekend events annually: The New York Capital District Renaissance Festival and the All Souls Harvest Village, both in the Albany, New York area. Gia is the proud daughter of Sicilian Immigrants. Her parents and grandparents came to the United States of America in search of a better life for their families during the late forties. Her father arrived in this country with only 3 dollars in his pocket, but despite his hardships he still managed to make a good life for his family in America. Gia didn’t have much growing up, but her parents knew that if they gave their kids an education, the world would be their oyster. The arts were always important in her family. Her Mom, Mary, plays the accordion and her Dad, Antonio, always wanted to act, sing, and play an instrument – but he had to “grow up fast” in order to provide for his family and therefore never had the chance to pursue his dream. Gia’s Dad and Mom have realized their artistic dreams through Gia and her work. Her parents have always supported her artistic aspirations, so everything she does for the IAC, she does in honor of them as well as in honor of her Uncle Lenny, Uncle Gaspare and Grandpa Giacinto, all great immigrant artists who will always continue inspire me.  @gpace
